When is registration?
The registration lottery is open between Thurs Jan 16, 9am and Sat Jan 18 9pm.
Why can’t I find classes to register for at Jefferson on the Activity Hero site?
Do not go to the Activity Hero site directly to register. You must start registration (enter the lottery) from our registration page. You will be redirected to their site when appropriate.
Why don’t I see the registration form on the registration page?
If registration is open, it should be at the bottom. But it seems to be somewhat buggy and is sometimes missing. If you do not see it, try fully reloading the page with Shift - Reload. If you still don’t see it, contact us.
Why are all of the classes full already?
We’re experimenting with a lottery this session. The only way to do this with Activity Hero makes it look like all classes are full from the start, and inputting your preferences means getting on the Waitlist.
Why is it not asking me to pay when registering?
For the same reason as above. The lottery means you are technically getting on the Waitlist. If you get a spot in the class, you will receive an email with a link to pay (and/or use a scholarship code) and complete enrollment.
How will I know if I get in a class?
Please check your email regularly in the period between the lottery and the start of classes. Also be sure that email from Activity Hero isn’t going to a Spam folder.
I will also try to send out an email blast via Activity Hero when we are all done processing registrations.
When will waitlist/lottery emails go out?
My goal is to start this within a couple of days of the end of open lottery. But this is an experiment, so no promises.
What if I can’t check my email regularly after the lottery?
Please let us know ASAP. We will work something out.

Are there scholarships available for PTA classes?
Yes! Scholarships are available on an honor system based on true financial need. For more details, see the scholarship page.
How to I apply for a scholarship?
There is no need to apply. Just use a discount code at checkout.
How do I use a scholarship?
Just click “Add discount code” on the checkout page, and enter the discount code (“FULL” for a full scholarship, “HALF” for a half scholarship.
How do I cancel a registration?
Send your cancellation request to jefferson.ptaclasses@gmail.com with your name, your child's name, and the class you wish to cancel. If this is after the start of the session, you must also inform your child’s teacher and the instructor. To receive a refund, you must request this before the second class meeting. But please let us know as soon as possible, so that we have time to offer the spot to another student if applicable.
If you paid by credit card, your payment will be refunded to your card. The credit card processing fee might not be refundable depending on the circumstances.
Why don’t you offer class X?
We are always willing to consider new classes. If you have ideas, please let us know! If you are willing to do some of the work to bring a new instructor on board, even better!
Class contracts are signed for the entire academic year at once, over the Summer. That means that decisions about new classes are made once a year, in the late Spring. We are not able to bring on new classes mid-year.
Please recognize, however, that we have limited space, and we are co-existing with other after school activities, so at some point bringing on new classes means dropping old ones. There are also sometimes reasons we can not accommodate certain classes due to logistics issues.
