Please note that BEARS and RAZ have separate applications, but they are joint programs, meaning that your child(ren) will not be separated based on which program they were enrolled in.
Ruth Acty After School Zone (RAZ)
First-come, first-served fee-based program based on monthly income

New families, please create a new BACR account here at the bottom of this page to sign up. Please ensure you have filled out the entire application, including the agreements. Complete applications will say “submitted”. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
Berkeley’s Excellent Academic Road to Success (BEARS)

Funded through the California Department of Social Services and all families must meet income requirements and demonstrate a need for care. Enrollment is prioritized by income and family size, from lowest to highest income. More information here.
RAZ/BEARS Pick Up Policy
TK/Kindergartners RAZ will end at 5:30 PM daily
1st - 5th RAZ will end at 5:45 PM daily
The green gate on Rose St will be open for pickup at 2:45 PM
After School Program Snacks
There will be two snacks (fruit and a grain) provided to your child. Students are allowed to bring a separate snack provided by a parent (no candy or soda).
